A sculpture of the Buddha image Phra Buddha Racha Sawat Mongkol by Professor Dr. Chalermchai Kositpipat, National Artist in Visual Arts (Painting), together with Police General Torsak Sukwimol, Commissioner-General of the Royal Thai Police.
The Phra Buddha Racha Sawat Mongkol is a beautiful Buddha image in its own right. It's a work of art, a unique and unmistakable Buddha image. It embodies the beauty of Chalermchai's own style. And, crucially, its sacredness. The artist created it with a heart of pure sacrifice, determined to create a beautiful image. Therefore, we see and pay homage to Buddha images of aesthetic value, emanating from the pure heart of the artist who sculpted and created them. At the same time, it also derives from a profound Buddhist ritual that leads to the sacredness and beauty of the image.
